Beautiful Outdoors Wedding

When my sister said that she wanted to put on a beautiful outdoors wedding where she (the bride) comes in a carriage I was thinking NO WAY, but wow she pulled it off. Im not sure of the exact cost of her wedding , however I know it was very cost efficient just thought Id share some of her techniques for anyone thinking up ideas for the big day. First off the place where she had her wedding was on a small bridge above a pond at a public park. In others words you simply call the city parks and recreation office and reserve the spot this is usually free. Her brides maid dresses came from Dillard's. They were cute little yellow sundresses that she bought in the coldest part of the winter! Yep if your trying to save plan WAAAY ahead! the dresses ran around 7 -15 bucks a piece! The wedding dress was found during a day after our local wedding expo where she picked up and registered for all types of coupons so when she went into the store on martin Luther King Day (which added a additional discount) her gorgeous wedding dress was UNDER 200 BUCKS! She made her bouquet and the brides maids bouquet as well so they were xacally as she dreamed it would be. The invitations were created by yours truly, however I simply made the initial invitation and printed out everything she needed at fedex! My sister took her time putting them together and sending them off! The picture that was used as the background were the bride and groom rings sitting in the middle of a sunflower taken once again by yours truly!  She also made the flower girls tiara and basket. It was a small wedding and decorations was compliments of our church along with a few loving ladies with a great eye for decor. We live in a small town where antiques are plentiful therefore when she had the idea of the bridesmaids coming in in one old school car and the groom and the grooms men coming in their own old school car it was as easy as spotting them in town and asking the owners to be apart of this special moment, which they were agreed to and was happy to do so showing off their awesome ride! And her reception was held at a cabin that can be rented out that was around the corner from the pond where her wedding was held!. All in all the major cost was the horse and carriage, the catering, the invitations,  and the clothes and accessories that were worn during the wedding. In other words GO SIS! She did it! So the best advise that I can give for anyone wanting to throw a beautiful wedding on a budget, plan WAAAY ahead and don't be afraid to dedicate your time to learning all these cute art and craft ideas! USE THE INTERNET TO YOUR ADVANTAGE. DIY is everywhere out there!

Pasta Fajita Casserole

So last night I felt cheesy ^_^! I ended up making a sort of casserole for dinner and it was awesome. If your a fan of the southern favorite chicken spaghetti you'll love this. This casserole was full of yummy bell peppers (which they'll never eat alone) and my children loved it they came back for seconds and my husband went back for thirds and fourths so I knew I had to post this one. To make this you will need the following!
1 bag of grill ready fajita chicken
1 package of wheat rotini (or any other pasta you'd like to have)
2 red bell peppers
2 green bell peppers
2 yellow bell peppers
1 sweet onion
1 red onion
1 can of rotell
1 package of Velveeta cheese (it was the small bar)
1 small can of cream of chicken soup
Chicken broth (add till desired density is reached)

Ok now that you have all that what I did was start by cooking the pasta. While I was waiting for that to cooker with a Reynolds slow cooker liner (for fast clean up) and set it on high. I then cut up my cheese into little cubes and added them to the slow cooker along with the can of cream of chicken the can of Rotell and the whole package of grill ready fajita meat. I then chopped up all my veggies (the peppers and onions) and added them to the slow cooker as well. I checked and mixed it often until all the cheese was melted then I added my broth until the mixture was at a density I was comfy with! By this time the noodles were already done and drained and just needed to be added! I add the noodles and let the mixture continue to cook but I have now changed my settings to low. This could be made a lot quicker in a pot however while cooking I tend to get a lot of the cleaning and other housework out of the way. The slow cooker allows me ample time to multi task considering there is a lot to be done after school (full time student) and work (full time employee) there is a lot that needs to be done by the time I get home! Whelp now that the house is tiddy Ive cleaned up the mess that I made preparing and cooking and the kids have that im hungry look in their eyes DINNER IS SERVED! Throw a little side salad and some bread sticks with it and whaaaala a hit!

DIY Personalized Cups

So talk about a quick easy and CHEAP way to entertain your children! Its summer and of course like millions of parents out there I constantly try and find ways to keep the youngsters busy and moving (especially since its hot in Texas and easy for them to resort to laying around in the AC in front of the t.v). Today's quick cheap projects was these nifty cheap DIY cups. After running a few midday errands and being frustrated that 2 out of 3 children found a way to once again forget or flat out loose their cups I figured why not let them decorate their own cups! I ran to the Dollar Tree and found three cute non spill cups and bought 2 booklets on foam letter stickers! All together I spent 5 bucks plus tax!!!! As we walked into the house and the daily "I'm thirsty" immediately hit I passed out the three cups and sticker book and instructed them to use the stickers to spell their name on their cups! Boy were they all for it! They got to practice spelling their name and use their own personal creativity! best part of this whole set up.......NOT ONE HAS LOST THEIR CUPS SINCE! This was defiantly a quick easy WIN for me, plus i'm sure it will save me some $ in the long run considering as long as they keep up with their cups I am not buying new ones left and right!
